"New Carpet Installation"

When installing new carpet, be sure to open your doors and windows. Increasing the amount of fresh air In the home will reduce exposure to most chemicals released from carpet. During and after installation, use window fans and room air conditioners to exhaust fumes to the outdoors. If you have a ventilation system, be sure it is in proper working order. Operate it during installation, and keep it running for 48 to 72 hours after the new carpet is installed.

Here is a litte more info on carpet installation and the things you will be required to do during and after installation.

New, thicker carpet may prevent doors from swinging clear and free. Your installer may remove the doors and rehang them if possible. If the doors do not clear, arrange to have them trimmed.

It is your responsibility to provide an adequate supply of fresh air during installation. Open windows and doors, use an exhaust fan or operate the fan of your heating or air conditioning system.

The “new carpet smell” will clear very quickly, usually in less than 72 hours. » Read more on carpet smell
